Over 14k jobs up for grabs in Labor Day mega job fairs


City of San Fernando, La Union – Over 14,000 jobs await jobseekers in the three mega job fairs which will be held on May 1, DOLE 1 Regional Director Grace Ursua today announced. 

The simultaneous job fairs will cap this year’s Labor Day celebration which is anchored on the theme: “Manggagawang Pilipino: Handa sa Hamon ng Makabagong Panahon.” 

Ursua said that about 133 local employers and licensed recruitment agencies have been invited to offer their available jobs and approved job orders to jobseekers who will visit the venues to look for employment.  

The job fair venues are SM City Rosales, Robinson’s Place Calasiao in Pangasinan and Batac City Hall in Ilocos Norte. 

Among the local employers which already confirmed participation are: Sutherland Global Services, The Kame Hachi Corporation, Sitel, Northcare Contact Center, Farmout Central Intouch, Marikina Shoe Exchange, Colorsteel, St. Camillus College of Manaoag, Don Philip Marketing, Richbake, Inc., St. Joseph Drugstore, Jollibee Foods Corporation, Panaderia Antonio, DRB Sales, SM Corporation, Watsons, Coca-Cola Bottlers Phils., Inc. Advance Credit Corporation, Fresh Option Meat Shop/Red Dragon Farm, Kenwood, San Vicente Dressing Plant Corporation, Fort Ilocandia Land Development Company Limited, Blue Leaf Trading, Pepsi Cola Products Phils., Inc., Robinsons Homes and others.

“Confirmations from both local employers and LRAs continue to arrive, so jobseekers can expect numerous vacancies to be made available,” Ursua said. 

The local employment opportunities include customer service representatives/call center agents, technical support representatives, licensed pharmacists, accountants and accounting staff, clerks, managers, supervisors, HR managers/staff, project facilitators, engineers, technicians, production operators, management trainees and others.  

Approved job orders include engineers, doctors, dentists, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, Xray technicians, pipe fitters, fabricators, welders, quality inspectors and other skilled workers. 

The DOLE 1 encourages jobseekers to bring as many application letters, resumes/bio data, official transcript of records, employment and training certificates, pictures and other proofs of credentials.  – Arly Sta. Ana-Valdez
