DOLE-RO I rolls out campaign blitz for “Ambisyon Natin”

The Department of Labor and Employment-Regional Office I yesterday rolled out its  campaign blitz on “Ambisyon Natin: Disenteng Trabaho para sa Manggagawang Pilipino: Patuloy abutin sa 2017”.

Some 32 hotels and restaurants in La Union were the first batch to be covered by the campaign.

“With this strategy, we aim to fulfil the various components of the present administration’s decent work agenda, that is, ensuring full respect for labor standards and rights at work, address unemployment and underemployment and increase access to social protection,” DOLE-RO I Regional Director Henry John Jalbuena said.

The regional director said the campaign blitz targets hotels and restaurants, retail and service establishments, manufacturing, hospitals and other establishments prioritized by the labor agency in its thrust to eliminate all illegitimate forms of contractualization.

“Educating companies on laws on contracting and the fundamental rights of workers is the first step towards ensuring their compliance and increasing their productivity,” Director Jalbuena said.

The DOLE’s “Ambisyon Natin” is its contribution to the 25-year long-term anti-poverty plan of the present administration which is dubbed “Ambisyon Nation 2040”. END/Arly Sta. Ana-Valdez
