DOLE-RO I made it!
The DOLE-RO I, including its six field offices, successfully passed a first surveillance audit after its Quality Management System was found to be functional in accordance with ISO 9001:2008 standards.

The surveillance audit is the first to be conducted since the regional office obtained its ISO 9001:2008 certification on January 21, 2016.

DOLE-RO I Regional Director Henry John Jalbuena said the surveillance audit is important in ensuring that the installed QMS really works as the office prepares to transition from 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015.

“Our migration to ISO 9001:2015 is part of our thrust to continually improve and make our services more relevant in light of the changing times to ensure higher customer satisfaction,” he said.

Among the major benefits of an ISO 9001:2015 upgrade is a risk-based approach which will be helpful in identifying, managing, monitoring and reducing risks in a structured manner, as well as opportunities that contribute to improvements.

The new standard also places more emphasis on leadership to draw greater involvement of top management in the QMS to motivate employees towards stated goals and strategic objectives.

All organizations which were certified to ISO 9001:2008 have until September 23, 2018 to transition to ISO 9001:2015 to continue complying with ISO 9001.

Congratulations, DOLE-RO I! END/Arly Sta. Ana-Valdez
