Jobseekers can expect more jobs as DOLE-RO I stages five job fairs for Kalayaan Day

Thousands of jobs await jobseekers on the 119th celebration of the Philippine Independence as the Department of Labor and Employment-Regional Office I and its partners prepare to hold five job fairs.

Regional Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra said around 100 employers are projected to participate in the job fairs to offer 30 thousand local and overseas vacancies.

He said four job fairs will be conducted at the Civic Center, Candon City, Ilocos Sur; Manna Mall, San Fernando City, La Union; Nepo Mall, Dagupan City, and CB Mall, Urdaneta City on June 12 and at the Robert Estrella Gymnasium, Rosales, Pangasinan on June 13.

The DOLE will partner with Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs), local employers, licensed recruitment agencies, private establishments, different government agencies and others to shorten jobseekers’ search for employment by bringing in one venue companies that are in need of workers.

“Once again, we join the commemoration of the Philippine Independence by bringing our services closer to jobseekers and workers to pursue our decent work agenda,” Director Lacambra said.

One-stop employment services will also be made available by the OWWA, POEA, Pag-IBIG, SSS, Philhealth, PRC, NCMB, RTWPB, NLRC and DTI.

The Regional Director advised jobseekers to take advantage of the opportunities that will be offered, be in their best and bring complete documents such as resumes, transcript of records, diplomas, employment and training certificates, pictures and other proofs of credentials.

The event is anchored on the theme: “Kalayaan 2017: Pagbabagong Sama-Samang Balikatin.”  END/Arly Sta. Ana-Valdez
