Top vacancies at the Labor Day job fairs

As more employers start to sign up for the Labor Day job fairs, the DOLE-RO I has identified the top vacancies which will be offered at the three venues on May 1.

Regional Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra said the top and recurring local vacancies were noted in construction, sales, business process outsourcing, office and manufacturing, particularly production operators.

He said jobs in construction are expected to be plenty because of the Build, Build, Build program of the government which will be one of the highlights of the celebration.

The BBB seeks to accelerate infrastructure spending and develop industries that will help create jobs among Filipinos.  Public spending on infrastructure projects is targeted at P8 to P9 trillion from 2017 to 2022.

Among the vacancies in construction are autocad operators, carpenters, masons, tilesetters, electricians, plumbers, architects, engineers, welders, heavy equipment operators, to name a few.

Other local vacancies include cashiers, butchers, accounting staff, pharmacy assistants, technicians, online teachers, food crew and others.

For overseas, jobs in construction, hotel and restaurant, factories and hospitals top the vacancies.

The DOLE, in cooperation with Public Employment Service Offices, employers and other agencies, will be holding two job fairs at Robinsons, San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte and Magic Mall, Urdaneta City from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Another jobs fair will be conducted at the Pangasinan PESO compound, Lingayen, Pangasinan from 5:00 p.m. to 12 midnight.  END/ Arly Sta.
