DOLE-RO I retains ISO 9001:2015 certification

The Quality Management System of the DOLE-Regional Office I and its six field offices was found to be compliant with ISO 9001:2015 standards after undergoing surveillance audit Friday.

The surveillance audit is the first to be conducted since the regional office obtained its ISO 9001:2015 certification on September 14, 2018.

Results of the audit conducted by SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Incorporated bared that the DOLE-RO I QMS has no major and minor non-conformities.  Only two observations and one opportunity for improvement were noted.

DOLE-RO I Regional Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra said the surveillance audit is important in ensuring that the installed QMS has been maintained in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

Among the major benefits of ISO 9001:2015 is a risk-based approach which is helpful in identifying, managing, monitoring and reducing risks in a structured manner, as well as opportunities that contribute to improvements.

The standard also places more emphasis on leadership to draw greater involvement of top management in the QMS to motivate employees towards stated goals and strategic objectives.

The DOLE-RO I was originally certified under ISO 9001:2008 on January 21, 2016.  It started transitioning to ISO 9001:2015 in the middle of 2016 to continue complying with ISO 9001. END/Arly Sta. Ana-Valdez
