DOLE-RO I hails best PESOs

 

The DOLE-Regional Office I recognized the region’s PESOs for their employment contribution in 2019. 

The awarding was the highlight of the Regional PESO Congress held on February 19-21 at the Xenia Hotel in Clark, Pampanga. 

DOLE-RO I Regional Director Nathaniel V. Lacambra said the Regional PESO Congress is a venue to recognize the significant contributions and outstanding accomplishments of the PESOs in the delivery of DOLE-initiated employment facilitation programs and services. 

“I take this opportunity to thank all of you for Region I’s better employment situation last year.  Employment rate grew by 1.5 percent from 93.2 to 94.7 owing to our employment facilitation network,” Director Lacambra told the PESOs. 

He disclosed that some 59,047 jobseekers were employed in 2019 through the job placement services front lined by the PESOs. 

During the event, four award categories were conferred, namely:  Service Commitment, Special Citation on Statistical Performance Reporting System (SPRS), Regional Program Awards and Best PESO 2018.

 Service Commitment Awards were given to the following for serving as PESO Managers for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years:  25 years – Marlon Soria (Batac City, Ilocos Norte); Cesar Bañez (Narvacan, Ilocos Sur); Gloria Joycelyn Aberin (Agoo, La Union); Amparo Mabalot (Rosario, La Union); and Bayani Sonaco (Umingan, Pangasinan); 20 years – Soledad Rosario (Mangaldan, Pangasinan); 15 years – Angeline Grace Lucila Dela (Dingras, Ilocos Norte); Benita Sabado (Dumalneg, Ilocos Norte); Randy Bistoyong (Suyo, Ilocos Sur); Catalina Flores (Binmaley, Pangasinan); Henry Asuncion (Burgos, Pangasinan) and Emilia Tucay (Manaoag, Pangasinan); 10 years – Mylene Isabel Pascual (Laoag City); Mildred Hernandez (Infanta, Pangasinan); Abraham Loresco (Sta.
