DOLE-RO I welcomes new Regional Director

 

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, La Union – A lady lawyer is the new Regional Director of the Department of Labor and Employment-Regional Office I.

Atty. Evelyn R. Ramos, who previously served as DOLE-RO 2 Regional Director, has succeeded Director Nathaniel Lacambra as DOLE-RO I Regional Director effective February 15.  Lacambra has assumed as RD in DOLE-CAR.

Atty. Ramos received the key of commitment from RD Lacambra in a turn-over ceremony held at the EM Royalle Hotel and Beach Resort, San Juan, La Union.

“I am quite ready to leave region 2 because I have fulfilled my mission.  I know it will be the same with the DOLE-RO I with its equally hardworking staff,” the new Regional Director said.

Atty. Ramos, whose nickname Eve means “God’s Helper”, is a service-oriented leader with extensive experience in government, academia and business.

Her career in public service started when she became the Legal Officer of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-Region 10 until she held the position Attorney IV.

She joined the DOLE-RO 10 as Mediator-Arbiter in October 2007, and later designated as OIC-Regional Director of DOLE-CARAGA.

She was assigned to DOLE-Davao Region as its Assistant Regional Director, then installed as the OIC-RD of DOLE-Calabarzon.  She also served the DOLE-NCR until her reassignment to the DOLE-RO 2 in June 2019.

“We find the meaning of our work in its impacts on people who really need our help,” she said, as she vowed to carry out her purpose within the bounds of the law.

Atty. Ramos obtained her degrees on BS Psychology and Bachelor of Laws from Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan. 

Her further studies include a certificate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology with merit and Master of Public Policy with the distinction as 2nd honor, 1st class division – all from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. END/Arly Sta. Ana-Valdez
