DOLE Urges LU Businessmen to Observe OSH Rules
The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 1 (DOLE RO1) remains aggressive in enjoining business owners and employers to strictly adhere to Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Standards in their respective enterprises.
This was underscored as Regional Director Atty. Evelyn R. Ramos met with businessmen and entrepreneurs in the Province of La Union, during the Regular Meeting of the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union, Inc. on August 24, 2021.
Speaking as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the meeting, RD Ramos urged the Rotarians to observe OSH standards in their companies and business enterprises. She shared that an increase in OSH violations has been noted in the region as of late, as reflected in the Labor Inspection results of the DOLE RO1.
“By properly observing OSH standards duly enforced by DOLE, we prevent risking the life and limb not only of the workers but everyone in the workplace,” RD Ramos said. “This way, we protect not only your workers and clients, but also the management who are oftentimes your kins and family members,” she added.
“Let us work together in upholding industrial peace,” RD Ramos concluded, as she reiterated to the Rotarians the DOLE’s thrust to build and maintain development partnerships with businesses and employers in La Union.
Per DOLE record, there are around 2,000 business establishments in La Union already inspected or due for inspection by labor inspectors. END/Justin Paul Marbella.
