As local tourism industries are seen to be in full swing once again, the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 1 (DOLE RO1) reorganized the Industry Tripartite Council (ITC) of Hotels and Restaurants in Western Pangasinan, and the newly-elected officers vow to foster strong ties with the DOLE.

In its reorganization meeting on September 16, 2022 at the Tourism Town Hall, Alaminos City, Pangasinan, the council underscored that it shall strive to be a functional body that facilitates discourse, consultations, and dialogues on issues affecting labor and management in hotels, restaurants, and other tourism-related establishments.

“Through an effective ITC, we at the DOLE shall be able to efficiently reach out to industry stakeholders aligned to our mandate on tripartism, as bannered by Sec. Bienvenido E. Laguesma,” said Regional Director Atty. Evelyn R. Ramos.

Elected as officers of the ITC-Hotel and Restaurant in Western Pangasinan are: Razel Ann Finez as Co-Chair for Labor; Mr. Ronaldi P. Torres as Co-Chair for Management; Jessica Carino as Treasurer; Bernie Labonete as Auditor; Jerome Castrence as Public Relations Officer; Ela Garcia, Rosemarie Pol, Lovely Conde, Deserie Rosario and Cherry Ann Abangtao as Labor Representatives; Marylou Jimenez, Tina Camba, Jonalyn Romero, Jonathan Go, and Algene Joy Celeste as Management Representatives.

RD Atty. Ramos serves as ex-officio Chair of the ITC, and the DOLE-Technical Services Support Division on Labor Relations and Labor Standards (TSSD-LSLR) serves as the secretariat.

In the meeting, the council members were also refreshed with latest updates on labor policies and guidelines, such as on the new wage orders which set the new daily minimum wage rates in the region; status of compliance of establishments on general labor standards and occupational safety and health; and tripartism backgrounder for the region.
