As it aims towards sustaining public service quality, the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 1 (DOLE RO1) led by OIC Regional Director Honorina Dian-Baga has been recommended for re-certification of ISO 9001:2015, after it has passed the surveillance audit held on October 12, 2022.

Done via remote, the surveillance audit conducted by ISO certifying body Socotec aimed to assess the compliance of DOLE RO1 processes and procedures as enrolled to ISO standards.

“We are happy to note that through this audit, we were able to maintain confidence that the certified management system continues to fulfill requirements between re-certification audits,” said OIC RD Baga.

At the end of the audit, two areas were noted as best practices. These are (1) comprehensive understanding of the DOLE RO1 personnel of the ISO Quality Management System (QMS), and (2) compliance with the prescribed cycle time of service delivery with high customer satisfaction rating.

“Effective implementation of controls was evident, as well as leadership and commitment of the Top Management,” the audit findings read.

Various DOLE RO1 processes are enrolled in the ISO 9001:2015, which include management procedures, and the provision of basic services to clients for programs on livelihood, employment, labor relations and labor standards.

Offices which have undergone the audit were the regional office’s operational divisions and the field offices in Ilocos Sur and Central Pangasinan.
