The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 1 through the leadership of Regional Director Exequiel Ronie A. Guzman is keen to concretize and formalize partnership with key stakeholders of construction industry in Pangasinan, in an aim to efficiently advocate for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) among workers and employers in the industry.

During the courtesy call of Pangasinan Constructors Association Inc. (PCAI) President Christopher Ferrer and Training and Development Chairperson and Trustee Benedict Beguas on January 5, 2023, RD Guzman opened discussion for a stronger link with the association.

“We wish to strengthen our ties with construction keyplayers, as this industry remains to be the key employment generator in the region,” RD Guzman said.

He added that strengthened partnership with construction groups can be a platform to strengthen the compliance of construction companies to OSH standards, as well as general labor standards.

“As they are in a high-risk industry, construction companies should be all the more conscious about OSH, and we at DOLE shall strongly uphold this as a way to protect the interest of both workers and employers,” RD Guzman said.
