Department of Labor and Employment- Regional Office 1 Director Henry John Jalbuena today urged owners and representatives of micro, small and medium enterprises in the City of San Fernando, La Union to make productivity as a means of enhancing their human resources.
Speaking during the 2-day ISTIV-Bayanihan training for MSMEs at the conference room of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-Region 1, Jalbuena said inclusive growth is dependent both on capital and human investment.
“Investing on your workers means ensuring decent and productive work for them,” Jalbuena said.
He said the ISTIV, where I stands for industrious, S for systematic, T for time-conscious, I for innovative and V for strong value for work, is a management concept that recognizes the value of human resource in bringing about the desired productivity of enterprises.
“Decent and productive employment would trigger enterprise growth which each one of you aims for,” Jalbuena said, adding that it could also spare enterprises from the DOLE’s visitorial power.
Inclusive growth, which is the central goal of the Philippine Development Plan 2011-2016, is anchored on sustained growth and massive employment creation. asv
