Jobseekers in Ilocos Region have over 10,000 local and overseas jobs for their taking, and the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 1 (DOLE RO1) enjoins them to seize this opportunity at the 2022 Independence Day Job Fair this Sunday, June 12, 2022.
DOLE RO1 Regional Director Atty. Evelyn R. Ramos said there are four venues for the fair: Candon Civic Center in Candon City, Ilocos Sur; CSI Mall in the City of San Fernando, La Union; Nepo Mall in Dagupan City, Pangasinan; and Don Leopoldo Sison Convention Center in Alaminos City, Pangasinan.
“As of June 6, we have pooled a total of 9,308 job vacancies – 7,763 are local while 1,545 are overseas,” said RD Atty. Ramos. Said vacancies are from 82 participating employers.
DOLE RO1 encourages all interested jobseekers to pre-register, for them to avail the virtual pre-employment coaching to be given by DOLE for free. “The virtual learning sessions will provide them with the right mindset of a successful jobseeker,” RD Ramos said.
“Aside from that, pre-registered applicants will also attain fast-lane access at the venue since they don’t have to fall in line for registration on the day of the fair,” she added.
As of June 6, there are now 4,456 pre-registered job applicants.
Government agencies will also be at the venue to provide one-stop assistance to jobseekers. They include DTI, OWWA, Department of Migrant Workers (formerly the POEA), PRC, RTWPB, TESDA, NBI, SSS, PSA, Philhealth and Pag-Ibig.
