Assistant Regional Director Honorina Dian-Baga takes the lead at the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office (DOLE RO1) following the re-assignment of Regional Director Atty. Evelyn Ramos to the DOLE Central Office’s Legal Services.
Per Administrative Order dated October 5, 2022 issued by Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, Dian-Baga is designated as the Officer-in-Charge of DOLE RO1.
“I express my sincerest gratitude to Secretary Laguesma for entrusting me with the leadership in the DOLE RO1. Rest assured that I will faithfully discharge the official functions with integrity and commitment in public service,” OIC-RD Baga said.
Likewise, OIC-RD Baga extends her warmest regards to RD Ramos as she now takes on bigger roles in the Department.
“We thank RD Eve for steering the DOLE RO1 into great heights under her remarkable leadership in the nearly past two years. We shall bank on the great foundations she has set, and we assure our social partners, most importantly our beneficiaries, that we shall sustain the great strides in delivering our services to the people,” OIC RD Baga said.
RD Ramos took the leadership role in DOLE RO1 in February 2021. She led the office during the crucial mid-pandemic years, as she ensured strong implementation of COVID-19 response initiatives such as the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP), TUPAD-BKBK, DOLE-AKAP, among others.
RD Ramos also was instrumental in strengthening the workforce in the regional office. She facilitated the promotion of at least 16 personnel, hired nine personnel who have transferred from other government agencies; and recommended the promotion of four officers to supervisory posts.
Meanwhile, Maam Rina, as her colleagues fondly call her, has been in service at the DOLE for nearly 30 years now. She rose from the ranks as Labor and Employer Officer III (LEO III), to Senior LEO, Supervising LEO, Chief LEO, to now as Director III.
She has a Law degree, and is a native of Bangar, La Union.
